![]() ![]() ![]() Now, as I’ve understood it OSMC/Kodi needs vc4-kms-v3d to run, but what puzzles me is that others have seemed to get OSMC (with Kodi 19). Then I installed Raspbian Buster on another SD card and managed to stream 1080p over Steam Link perfectly fine with a system resolution of 2160p on that system, but only once I’d commented out dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d in its config.txt. Tried hardware and software rendering etc. I dabbled in trying to limit the resolution of both Pi, Steam host, Steam client and the Steam stream itself to no avail. Steam Link’s detailed statistics indicated that the stream was definitely being received though, and the Steam host audio being audible on the client confirmed this.Īt first I thought it was problem of client resolution, since the Steam Link client defaulted to the highest possible resolution (2160p) even if setting OSMC to 1080p. published 8 August 2023 This project is hard to 'beat' Comments (1) (Image credit: Agustin Bacigalup) The Raspberry Pi community has a certain spirit about it and by that we meanmakers often. Client: Raspberry Pi 4 + Android 9 4K OLED TV. On the other hand though, Raspberry Pis are not only easy to come by, they are also cheap and remarkably easy to use for a variety of purposes. Now i have new Hardware and also new problems ) Host PC: Ry+ RX 5700 XT + Full HD 144Hz. Hi, first of all: Thank you for the ability to stream my games around my house I'am using it now since 2016. Installing Steam Link via swetoast’s Steam Link Launcher worked well too… but once setup the video stream from the host Steam machine is pitch black. Steam Link on Raspberry Pi 4 with AMD Hardware. (Thanks or all the hard work that goes into making this happen!) It defaults to h264 even with hevc enabled in the settings on a raspberry pi 4, and a after a while it actually swaps to the cpu encoder, presumably because h264 on amd cards is just that bad. Everything is smooth and works well with my 4K projector. However, depending on what your walls are made of and how thick they are, then that can limit or be worse off than a 2.5ghz (802.11bgn) router. If you have a 5ghz capable router (802.11ac), then that might work. I recently upgraded my OSMC setup from a Pi 3+ to a Pi 4. It is strongly recommended to use wired connection for the steam link device or for the steam link app on the pi. ![]()
